Previous management established bad relations with the Union. This led to distrust with any pending decisions regarding the hotel and its employees. The new management found it hard to successfully run the hotel and be productive with issues relating to the Union. Called TJR Consulting because we were ready to close a Hotel and wanted the negotiations to be positive and straightforward. Because the Union trusted the consultant the negotiations were professional and the closing was seamless. This would not have been the case if we did not have the consultant as the Union had no confidence in the Hotel based on previous behavior. We have never seen the Union Business Agents so calm and professional during the process. They worked well with the seasoned and knowledgeable consultant. It was a challenging situation but the consultant was persistent in doing the due diligence on behalf the hotel to make sure all negotiated agreements were followed. The Consultant also saved us over 100,000 dollars in overtime wages by insisting that we change departmental schedules. The consultant was persistent and made sure as a hotel we knew our rights. Through numerous sit downs with the Union Business Agents we were able to come to an agreement based on the business needs of the hotel. We highly recommend this Company to any entity which is unionized and particularly the New York Hotel Trades Council as the consultant knows and understands the Industry Wide Agreement intimately and does not allow the Union to exert any strength.
